Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist)
The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), often abbreviated as CPN-UML, is a major political party in Nepal. Founded in 1991, it emerged from a split in the original Communist Party of Nepal. The party advocates for Marxist-Leninist principles and aims to establish a socialist state in Nepal through democratic means.
The CPN-UML has played a significant role in Nepal's political landscape, participating in various governments and coalitions. It has been involved in the peace process following the decade-long civil conflict and has contributed to the drafting of the new constitution, which was adopted in 2015.
