Cimbri
The Cimbri were a Celtic tribe that lived in northern Europe during the late 2nd century BCE. They are best known for their migrations and conflicts with the Roman Republic. The Cimbri, along with their allies, moved from present-day Denmark and invaded parts of Gaul and Italy, leading to significant battles against Roman forces.
Their most notable confrontation was the Battle of Arausio in 105 BCE, where they defeated a Roman army. The Cimbri eventually faced defeat at the hands of the Roman general Gaius Marius in 101 BCE, which marked the end of their threat to Rome and contributed to the rise of Roman military power.
