Christian humanism
Christian humanism is a philosophical and cultural movement that combines elements of Christianity with humanism. It emphasizes the value and agency of human beings, focusing on the importance of individual dignity and moral responsibility. Christian humanists believe that human potential can be realized through a relationship with God, and they often draw on the teachings of Jesus Christ to promote ethical living and social justice.
This movement emerged during the Renaissance, when scholars sought to reconcile classical humanist ideas with Christian beliefs. Prominent figures, such as Desiderius Erasmus, advocated for a return to the original texts of the Bible and emphasized the importance of education and critical thinking in understanding faith.
