Chir Pine
Chir Pine is a species of pine tree native to the western Himalayas, particularly found in regions of India, Nepal, and Bhutan. It is known for its tall stature, reaching heights of up to 50 meters, and its distinctive long, slender needles that grow in clusters of three. The tree produces large cones that can be up to 25 centimeters long, which contain edible seeds.
Chir Pine thrives in a variety of soil types and is often found in mountainous areas at elevations between 1,000 and 2,500 meters. It is valued for its timber, which is used in construction and furniture making, as well as for its resin, which is harvested for various industrial applications.
