Chinese Valentine's Day
Chinese Valentine's Day, also known as Qixi Festival, is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar. This festival has its roots in a romantic legend about the cowherd, Niulang, and the weaver girl, Zhinu, who are separated by the Milky Way and can only reunite once a year on this day.
During Qixi, couples express their love through various activities, such as making and giving gifts, writing poetry, and enjoying romantic meals together. The festival is also marked by traditional customs, including weaving contests and offerings to Zhinu for blessings in love and marriage.
