Niulang
Niulang is a character from Chinese mythology, often known as the "Cowherd." He is depicted as a humble and hardworking young man who falls in love with Zhinü, the Weaver Girl, a celestial being. Their love story is celebrated during the Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day, which occurs on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.
In the legend, Niulang and Zhinü are separated by the Queen Mother of the West, who forbids their union. They are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month, when a bridge of magpies forms across the Milky Way. Their tale symbolizes love and longing, resonating deeply in Chinese culture.
