Charles Emmanuel IV
Charles Emmanuel IV was the King of Sardinia from 1802 to 1814. He was born on June 3, 1751, and was a member of the House of Savoy. His reign was marked by the challenges of the Napoleonic Wars, which significantly affected the political landscape of Europe.
After abdicating in 1814, Charles Emmanuel IV chose to live in exile in Rome. He later became a monk and took the name Brother Giuseppe. He died on October 6, 1819, in Civita Castellana, leaving behind a legacy of a turbulent yet transformative period in Sardinian history.
