Charles, Duke of Durazzo
Charles, Duke of Durazzo (circa 1345– 24 January 1392), was a nobleman from the House of Anjou. He was the son of Charles, King of Naples and Catherine of Valois. Charles became Duke of Durazzo in 1376 and played a significant role in the politics of Southern Italy during the late 14th century.
In 1381, he claimed the title of King of Naples, leading to a conflict with Queen Joanna I of Naples. His reign was marked by power struggles and alliances, ultimately resulting in his capture and execution. Charles's actions significantly influenced the political landscape of the region during his time.
