Ceiba tree
The Ceiba tree, also known as kapok tree, is a large tropical tree native to Central and South America, as well as parts of Africa and Asia. It can grow up to 70 meters tall and is known for its distinctive, thick trunk and large, spiky seed pods. The tree produces beautiful white or pink flowers that attract various pollinators, including bats and bees.
The Ceiba tree plays a vital role in its ecosystem, providing habitat and food for numerous species. Its fibers, found in the seed pods, are lightweight and have been traditionally used for insulation and stuffing in pillows and mattresses. Additionally, the tree holds cultural significance in many indigenous communities.
