Cashibo people
The Cashibo people are an indigenous group residing primarily in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional practices, languages, and social structures. The Cashibo speak the Cashibo-Cacataibo language, which is part of the larger Panoan language family.
Historically, the Cashibo have relied on agriculture, fishing, and hunting for their sustenance. They cultivate crops such as manioc and plantains, and their lifestyle is closely tied to the natural environment. In recent years, the Cashibo have faced challenges due to deforestation and external pressures on their land and resources.
