Cashibo People
The Cashibo People are an indigenous group located in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. They primarily inhabit the Ucayali region and are known for their rich cultural traditions and connection to the natural environment. Their lifestyle is largely based on subsistence agriculture, fishing, and hunting, which allows them to sustain their communities while preserving their ancestral practices.
Traditionally, the Cashibo have a deep spiritual relationship with the forest, viewing it as a source of life and resources. They speak the Cashibo language, which is part of the larger Panoan language family. Efforts are ongoing to protect their land and culture from external threats, including deforestation and encroachment by industries.
