Carlism
Carlism is a traditionalist and legitimist political movement in Spain that emerged in the 19th century. It advocates for the rights of the Carlist branch of the Bourbon family to the Spanish throne, specifically supporting Carlos María Isidro de Borbón and his descendants. The movement arose in response to the succession crisis following the death of Ferdinand VII and has been associated with conservative and regionalist ideologies.
Historically, Carlism has been linked to several civil wars in Spain, known as the Carlist Wars, which were fought between Carlists and supporters of the reigning monarchs. The movement emphasizes Catholic values, regional autonomy, and a rejection of liberalism, seeking to restore a traditional monarchy in Spain.
