Canalith Repositioning
Canalith Repositioning is a therapeutic technique used to treat a common inner ear disorder called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This condition occurs when tiny calcium carbonate crystals, known as otoconia, become dislodged from their usual location in the inner ear and move into the semicircular canals, causing dizziness and balance issues.
The procedure involves a series of specific head and body movements designed to guide these dislodged crystals back to their original position, alleviating symptoms. It is typically performed by a healthcare professional and can provide immediate relief for many patients suffering from BPPV.
