Calf Raises
Calf raises are a simple exercise designed to strengthen the muscles in the lower leg, specifically the gastrocnemius and soleus. To perform a calf raise, stand with your feet flat on the ground, then slowly lift your heels off the floor while balancing on the balls of your feet. Hold the position briefly before lowering your heels back down. This exercise can be done on flat surfaces or on an elevated platform for added intensity.
Calf raises can be performed with or without weights, making them suitable for all fitness levels. They can be incorporated into a regular workout routine to improve balance, stability, and overall leg strength. Regular practice can also enhance athletic performance in activities like running and jumping.
