Caddo people
The Caddo people are a Native American tribe originally from the southeastern United States, particularly in areas that are now Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. They are known for their rich culture, which includes intricate pottery, basket weaving, and a deep spiritual connection to the land. Historically, the Caddo were agriculturalists, cultivating crops like corn, beans, and squash.
The Caddo Nation has a distinct language, also called Caddo, which belongs to the Caddoan language family. Today, the Caddo people continue to preserve their heritage through cultural events, traditional practices, and community initiatives. They are recognized as a federally recognized tribe and actively participate in various social and economic development programs.
