Caddo
The Caddo are a Native American tribe originally from the southeastern United States, particularly in areas that are now Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. They are known for their rich culture, which includes intricate pottery, basket weaving, and mound-building. The Caddo people historically lived in villages and were skilled farmers, growing crops like corn, beans, and squash.
Today, the Caddo Nation is a federally recognized tribe based in Oklahoma. They continue to preserve their cultural heritage through language revitalization, traditional ceremonies, and community events. The Caddo also engage in economic development initiatives to support their members and promote their history, including the establishment of the Caddo Heritage Museum.
