CONADEP
The National Commission on the Disappearance of Persons, known as CONADEP, was established in Argentina in 1983. Its primary purpose was to investigate the forced disappearances that occurred during the Dirty War, a period of state terrorism from 1976 to 1983. The commission aimed to document human rights violations and provide a historical account of the events.
CONADEP produced a significant report titled "Nunca Más" ("Never Again") in 1984, which detailed the testimonies of victims and their families. This report played a crucial role in raising awareness about human rights abuses in Argentina and contributed to the country's ongoing efforts for justice and accountability.
