CAISO
The California Independent System Operator, or CAISO, is a nonprofit organization responsible for managing the electricity grid in California. It ensures that electricity supply meets demand in real-time, facilitating the flow of power across the state. CAISO also oversees the wholesale electricity market, allowing various energy producers to sell their power.
In addition to grid management, CAISO plays a crucial role in integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into the power system. This helps California meet its environmental goals and transition to a cleaner energy future while maintaining reliability and efficiency in electricity delivery.
