PJM Interconnection
PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of electricity in parts of the eastern United States. It manages the electric grid and ensures reliable power delivery to over 65 million people across 13 states and the District of Columbia.
Founded in 1927, PJM oversees the planning and operation of the transmission network, balancing supply and demand in real-time. It also facilitates electricity markets, allowing generators and consumers to buy and sell power efficiently, promoting competition and reliability in the energy sector.
