Buryat Language
The Buryat language is a Mongolic language spoken primarily by the Buryat people, who inhabit regions in Russia, particularly around Lake Baikal and in Mongolia. It is closely related to other Mongolic languages, such as Mongolian and Kalmyk, and has several dialects, including Northern Buryat and Southern Buryat.
Buryat is written using the Cyrillic script, which was adopted in the 20th century. The language has a rich oral tradition and is an important part of the cultural identity of the Buryat community. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve the language, especially among younger generations.
