Brussels Attacks
The Brussels Attacks occurred on March 22, 2016, when coordinated bombings targeted the Brussels Airport and a metro station in the city. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 32 civilians and injured over 300 others. The bombings were carried out by members of the terrorist group ISIS, which claimed responsibility shortly after.
In response to the attacks, the Belgian government heightened security measures and launched investigations to apprehend those involved. The events raised concerns about terrorism in Europe and led to discussions on improving intelligence sharing among countries to prevent future attacks.
