British Somaliland
British Somaliland was a British protectorate located in the northern part of present-day Somalia. Established in the late 19th century, it served as a strategic location for trade and military operations in the region. The area was known for its diverse cultures and was primarily inhabited by the Somali people.
In 1960, British Somaliland gained independence and united with Italian Somaliland to form the Somali Republic. The region has a rich history, marked by its interactions with various colonial powers and its role in the broader context of East African geopolitics.
