Somaliland
Somaliland is a self-declared republic located in the Horn of Africa, bordered by Somalia to the south, Ethiopia to the west, and the Gulf of Aden to the north. It declared independence from Somalia in 1991 but is not internationally recognized as a separate state. The capital city is Hargeisa, which serves as the political and economic center of the region.
Despite its lack of formal recognition, Somaliland has established a stable government and a relatively peaceful society compared to the rest of Somalia. The region has its own currency, flag, and institutions, and it has made significant strides in areas like education and infrastructure development.
