Bristletail
Bristletails are small, wingless insects belonging to the order Thysanura. They are characterized by their elongated bodies and three long, tail-like appendages at the rear. Commonly found in damp environments, bristletails thrive in leaf litter, under rocks, and in decaying wood. They are known for their ability to move quickly and jump, which helps them evade predators.
These insects primarily feed on organic matter, including decaying plant material and fungi. Bristletails play a vital role in the ecosystem by aiding in decomposition and nutrient recycling. They are often mistaken for silverfish, another group of wingless insects, but can be distinguished by their longer tails and different body shapes.
