Breech Birth
A breech birth occurs when a baby is positioned to be born feet or buttocks first, rather than the typical head-first position. This can happen in about 3-4% of pregnancies at term. Breech presentations can be classified into different types, including frank breech, where the baby's legs are straight up, and complete breech, where the legs are crossed.
Breech births can pose challenges during delivery, as they may increase the risk of complications for both the mother and baby. Healthcare providers may recommend a cesarean section for safer delivery, especially if the baby is not in a favorable position for a vaginal birth.
