Black-faced Spoonbill
The Black-faced Spoonbill is a large wading bird known for its distinctive spoon-shaped bill and striking black facial markings. It typically measures about 70-80 cm in length and has a wingspan of around 120-130 cm. This bird is primarily found in coastal wetlands and estuaries across parts of East Asia, particularly in China, South Korea, and Taiwan.
These spoonbills are social birds, often seen foraging in groups. They feed mainly on small fish, crustaceans, and other aquatic invertebrates by sweeping their bills through shallow water. The species is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and environmental changes, making conservation efforts crucial for its survival.
