Black-Faced Spoonbill
The Black-Faced Spoonbill is a large wading bird known for its distinctive spoon-shaped bill and striking black facial markings. It typically measures about 70 to 80 centimeters in length and has a wingspan of around 120 to 130 centimeters. This bird is primarily found in coastal wetlands and estuaries across parts of East Asia, particularly in China, South Korea, and Taiwan.
These spoonbills are social birds, often seen foraging in groups. They feed mainly on small fish, crustaceans, and other aquatic invertebrates by sweeping their bills through the water. The species is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and human disturbance, making conservation efforts crucial for its survival.
