Black Pyramid
The "Black Pyramid" is an ancient structure located in Dahshur, Egypt. Built during the reign of Pharaoh Amenemhat II in the 12th Dynasty, it is one of the earliest examples of a true pyramid. The pyramid is notable for its unique blackened limestone casing, which gives it its name.
Unlike the smooth-sided pyramids of Giza, the Black Pyramid has a more complex design, featuring a stepped structure. Over time, much of its outer casing has eroded, but it remains an important archaeological site that provides insights into ancient Egyptian architecture and burial practices.
