Pyramid of Giza
The Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Great Pyramid, is one of the most famous ancient structures in the world. Built around 2580–2560 BC during the reign of the Pharaoh Khufu, it is the largest of the three pyramids located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. Originally standing at 146.6 meters (481 feet), it was the tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years.
Constructed using approximately 2.3 million blocks of stone, the pyramid served as a tomb for Khufu. It is part of a complex that includes the Sphinx and smaller pyramids for queens. The Great Pyramid is the only surviving structure of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
