Black Greek Organizations
Black Greek Organizations, also known as Historically Black Greek Letter Organizations (HBGLOs), are collegiate fraternities and sororities founded primarily for African American students. These organizations promote academic excellence, community service, and cultural awareness. The most notable groups include the Divine Nine, which consists of nine organizations established during the early 20th century.
These organizations often emphasize brotherhood and sisterhood, providing a support network for members. They engage in various activities, including social events, mentorship programs, and community outreach. Membership in these organizations can foster leadership skills and lifelong friendships among members.
