Black Greek Letter Organizations
Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs) are historically African American fraternities and sororities that promote academic excellence, community service, and cultural awareness. Founded in the early 20th century, these organizations provide a supportive network for their members and often focus on social justice and civil rights initiatives.
The most well-known BGLOs are part of the Divine Nine, which includes Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, and others. Each organization has its own unique history, values, and symbols, but they all share a commitment to uplifting the African American community and fostering leadership among their members.
