Bialowieza Forest
Białowieża Forest is a vast and ancient woodland located on the border between Poland and Belarus. It is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the primeval forest that once covered much of Europe. The forest is home to diverse flora and fauna, including the iconic European bison, which is the continent's heaviest land animal.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Białowieża Forest is recognized for its ecological significance and biodiversity. The forest features a mix of old-growth trees, such as oak, pine, and spruce, and provides a habitat for many endangered species. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect this unique ecosystem.
