Beta Velorum
Beta Velorum is a binary star system located in the constellation Vela, approximately 24 light-years from Earth. It consists of two stars, Beta Velorum A and Beta Velorum B, which orbit each other. The primary star, Beta Velorum A, is a blue giant, significantly larger and hotter than our Sun.
The system is notable for its brightness, making it one of the most prominent stars in the night sky. Beta Velorum has an apparent magnitude of about 2.61, allowing it to be easily seen with the naked eye. Its distance and characteristics make it an interesting subject for astronomers.
