Bernier Island
Bernier Island is located off the coast of Western Australia, within the Abrolhos Islands archipelago. It is part of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and is known for its unique wildlife and diverse ecosystems. The island covers an area of approximately 1,200 hectares and features sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and salt flats.
The island is uninhabited and serves as a significant habitat for various bird species, including the Australian pelican and the black-faced cormorant. It is also home to the endangered Western ground parrot. Bernier Island is a protected area, contributing to conservation efforts in the region.
