Berengar II of Italy
Berengar II of Italy was a king who ruled during the 10th century, specifically from 950 to 961. He was a member of the Carolingian dynasty and became the ruler of northern Italy after the death of his predecessor, Lothair II. His reign was marked by conflicts with local nobles and rival claimants to the throne.
In 961, Otto I, the Holy Roman Emperor, invaded Italy and defeated Berengar II. Following his defeat, Berengar was forced to surrender and was later imprisoned. His reign is significant as it highlights the struggles for power in Italy during the early medieval period.
