Battle of Mutina
The Battle of Mutina took place in 43 BCE during the Roman civil wars. It was fought between the forces of the Senate, led by Decimus Junius Brutus and Mark Antony. The battle was part of a larger conflict over control of the Roman Republic following the assassination of Julius Caesar.
The Senate aimed to stop Antony's rise to power, as he was a supporter of Caesar. Despite initial successes, the Senate's forces were ultimately defeated. This battle marked a significant moment in the struggle for power in Rome, leading to further conflicts and the eventual rise of Octavian, later known as Augustus.
