Battle of Gaixia
The Battle of Gaixia took place in 202 BCE during the final stages of the Chu-Han Contention, a power struggle in ancient China. This decisive battle was fought between the forces of Liu Bang, who later became Emperor Gao of Han, and the army of Xiang Yu, the leader of the Chu state. Liu Bang's forces, bolstered by strategic alliances and superior tactics, ultimately defeated Xiang Yu's troops.
Following the battle, Xiang Yu retreated, leading to the collapse of the Chu state and the establishment of the Han Dynasty. The victory at Gaixia marked a significant turning point in Chinese history, solidifying Liu Bang's power and paving the way for a long period of stability and prosperity under the Han rule.
