Baths of Caracalla
The Baths of Caracalla were a large public bathing complex in ancient Rome, built between AD 212 and 216 during the reign of Emperor Caracalla. These baths were not only places for bathing but also served as social and recreational centers, featuring gardens, libraries, and exercise areas.
The complex covered around 25 acres and could accommodate thousands of visitors daily. Its impressive architecture included massive vaulted ceilings and intricate mosaics, showcasing the engineering skills of the time.
