Baldwin V of Jerusalem
Baldwin V of Jerusalem was a king who ruled the Kingdom of Jerusalem from 1185 to 1186. He was born in 1177 and became king at a young age after the death of his father, Baldwin IV, who had suffered from leprosy. Baldwin V's reign was short and marked by political instability, as he was only nine years old when he ascended to the throne.
Due to his youth and health issues, Baldwin V was unable to effectively govern. His reign ended when he died in 1186, leading to a power struggle among the nobility. After his death, the kingdom faced increasing threats from Saladin, the Muslim leader, which ultimately contributed to the fall of Jerusalem in 1187.
