Badr Organization
The Badr Organization is a political and paramilitary group in Iraq, originally formed in the 1980s as the military wing of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI). It was established to oppose the regime of Saddam Hussein and has since evolved into a significant political party, participating in Iraq's parliamentary elections.
After the fall of Saddam in 2003, the Badr Organization became influential in Iraqi politics and security. It has close ties to Iran and is part of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), which played a crucial role in fighting against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq.
