Austro-Turkish War
The Austro-Turkish War (1716-1718) was a conflict between the Habsburg Monarchy and the Ottoman Empire. It arose from territorial disputes in the Balkans, particularly over Serbia and Hungary. The war was marked by several key battles, including the notable victory at Peterwardein.
The conflict ended with the Treaty of Passarowitz in 1718, which resulted in territorial gains for the Habsburgs. They acquired parts of Serbia and Banat, while the Ottomans retained control over Budapest. This war marked a significant shift in power dynamics in Southeast Europe, leading to a decline in Ottoman influence.
