Austro-Italian Front
The Austro-Italian Front was a significant theater of conflict during World War I, primarily involving the forces of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy. It spanned from 1915 to 1918, with battles taking place in the mountainous regions of northern Italy, particularly along the Isonzo River and the Alps.
The front was marked by a series of intense battles, including the Battle of Caporetto and the Twelve Battles of the Isonzo. These confrontations were characterized by difficult terrain and high casualties, ultimately leading to Italy's defeat and the eventual collapse of the Austro-Hungarian forces.
