Aurelian Walls
The Aurelian Walls are ancient fortifications that encircle the city of Rome, Italy. Built between 271 and 275 AD under the Emperor Aurelian, these walls were designed to protect the city from invasions and attacks. Stretching approximately 19 kilometers, they include 18 gates and numerous towers, showcasing impressive Roman engineering.
The walls were constructed using brick and concrete, featuring a mix of defensive structures. Over the centuries, the Aurelian Walls have undergone various restorations and modifications, and they remain a significant historical landmark, reflecting the strength and resilience of ancient Rome.
