Asharism
Asharism is a theological school of thought within Islam that emerged in the 9th century. Founded by Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari, it seeks to reconcile Islamic theology with rationalism. Asharites emphasize the importance of divine will and the limits of human reason in understanding God and the universe.
The Asharite approach asserts that while human reason can grasp certain truths, ultimate knowledge comes from revelation. This school of thought has significantly influenced Sunni Islamic philosophy and has been pivotal in shaping the beliefs of many Muslim scholars and communities throughout history.
