Article 21
Article 21 of the Indian Constitution guarantees the right to life and personal liberty. It states that no person shall be deprived of their life or personal liberty except according to the procedure established by law. This means that individuals have the right to live with dignity and cannot be arbitrarily deprived of their freedom.
Over the years, the Supreme Court of India has interpreted Article 21 broadly, expanding its scope to include various rights such as the right to privacy, the right to a clean environment, and the right to health. This has made Article 21 a cornerstone of individual rights in India.
