Arsinoe I
Arsinoe I was an ancient Egyptian queen, known for being the first wife of Ptolemy II Philadelphus, a ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom. She was the daughter of King Lysimachus of Thrace and played a significant role in the political landscape of her time. Her marriage helped to solidify alliances between the Ptolemaic dynasty and other Hellenistic kingdoms.
After her death, Arsinoe I was honored with a cult and was often depicted in art and inscriptions. Her legacy continued through her children, particularly Arsinoe II, who also became a prominent queen and was later deified, further intertwining their stories in the history of ancient Egypt.
