Ansar Allah
Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, is a political and armed movement based in Yemen. Founded in the 1990s, it initially aimed to promote the interests of the Zaidi Shia community. The group gained prominence during the Yemeni Revolution in 2011 and later took control of the capital, Sana'a, in 2014.
The movement is known for its opposition to the Yemeni government and its involvement in the ongoing Yemeni Civil War. Ansar Allah has received support from Iran, which has led to regional tensions, particularly with Saudi Arabia and its allies, who view the group as a proxy for Iranian influence in the Arabian Peninsula.
