Ankle Sprains
Ankle sprains occur when the ligaments that connect bones in the ankle are stretched or torn, often due to sudden twists or impacts. This injury is common in sports and everyday activities, and it can cause pain, swelling, and difficulty walking.
Treatment typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation, known as the RICE method. In some cases, physical therapy may be recommended to strengthen the ankle and prevent future injuries. Most ankle sprains heal within a few weeks, but severe cases may require medical intervention.
