Ankle Sprain
An ankle sprain occurs when the ligaments that support the ankle are stretched or torn, often due to sudden twisting or impact. This injury commonly happens during sports or physical activities, and it can cause pain, swelling, and difficulty walking.
Treatment typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation, known as the RICE method. In some cases, physical therapy may be recommended to strengthen the ankle and prevent future injuries. Most ankle sprains heal within a few weeks, but severe cases may require medical intervention.
