Anglo-Boer War
The Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) was a conflict between the British Empire and two Boer republics in southern Africa: the South African Republic and the Orange Free State. The war arose from tensions over British control and the rights of Afrikaner settlers, leading to a struggle for independence by the Boers.
The war featured guerrilla warfare tactics employed by the Boers, which challenged the traditional military strategies of the British. Ultimately, the conflict resulted in British victory, leading to the incorporation of the Boer republics into the British Empire, and set the stage for future tensions in South Africa.
